AGC Las Vegas
AGC Las Vegas | Representing Over 600 Construction Firms In Southern Nevada
Established in 1918, the Associated General Contractors of America is the oldest, largest and most respected construction trade association in the United States. With more than 100 chapters nationwide representing more than 35,000 general and specialty contractors, suppliers, equipment manufacturers and professional service providers, AGC is the voice of the commercial, industrial, heavy/highway and underground construction industry.
SKILL, INTEGRITY & RESPONSIBILITY
AGC members exemplify skill, integrity and responsibility, and the association mirrors these qualities through the range, scope and quality of services it provides.
REPRESENTING OVER 600 MEMBERS
The Las Vegas Chapter is one of the largest in the country, representing more than 600 member firms. For several years, the chapter and several affiliate associations have formed mutually beneficial partnerships. The Framing Contractors Association, National Association of Women in Construction, Construction Financial Management Association and National Association of Minority Contractors have found a strong voice to advocate their concerns while maintaining autonomy.
WE'RE A NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION
AGC is understandably proud to represent the third-largest industry in Nevada. AGC is a non-profit association run by contractors for the benefit of its building, heavy highway, heavy industrial, municipal, utility and commercial contractor members.
AGC is neither pro-union nor anti-union – it’s Las Vegas Chapter contractor membership is nearly evenly split; but rather pro-employer. It is a full-service association, providing services that individual companies would find either too expensive or altogether impossible to provide or purchase themselves.
Active in national, state and local political issues, AGC is the recognized authority on matters relating to construction.
ESTABLISHED IN 1988
The Las Vegas Chapter received it’s charter in 1988, establishing a second chapter in Nevada. The Nevada Chapter was founded in Reno in 1939 and continues to advocate for it’s northern Nevada members.
THE LARGEST INDUSTRY SPECIFIC ASSOCIATION IN NEVADA
The Associated General Contractors, Las Vegas Chapter is the largest industry specific association in the state of Nevada. Our membership includes construction project owners and developers, general building contractors, general engineering contractors, construction managers, specialty contractors and subcontractors, equipment and material suppliers and industry-dependent businesses. We provide services to all construction-related business: large or small, union or non-union; general, sub, supplier or service provider.
Through involvement in the political process at all levels, AGC and its partnering association members lobby and educate elected and appointed officials with the aim of ensuring the construction industry does not become over-regulated and unduly burdened by government.
AGC uses various print and electronic media to promote the association, its members, affiliate associations and the construction industry. AGC employs its own monthly magazine, Construction Connection, feature stories, white papers, news interviews, advertisements and social media to improve the image of the construction industry and demonstrate the value of construction to the national, state and local economy and community. Public service events such as the AGC/ UNLV Student Chapter House of Cards Tournament and school and residential renovations such as Operation Opening Doors show the industry’s commitment to community service.
Throughout the year, AGC hosts many functions at which members may discuss industry issues and explore business opportunities. Members are encouraged to attend and bring along friends and colleagues to quarterly luncheons, member expos, mixers, the Holiday Dinner Dance/Silent Auction, golf tournaments, AGC/UNLV House of Cards Tournament, Strategic Planning Conference and many networking opportunities provided by the Las Vegas AGC partnering associations – the FCA, NAMC, NAWIC and CFMA. All hold regular membership meetings featuring guest speakers on subjects intended to provide personal or professional growth and development for their members.
Through it’s Manpower, Education and Training Committee, Young Constructors Forum and Safety and Training Department, AGC develops programs that supplement training students and young professionals receive from the College of Southern Nevada, UNLV, Build Nevada, the National Center for Construction Education and Research, AGC of America and its affiliate associations. AGC of America’s national convention and mid-year meeting are also designed to provide members with professional development seminars and forums that let you share ideas and new approaches.
